Gandalf’s 3 Brand Build

Todays computer spotlight is from non other than Gandalf aka, Brandon.

I built my computer almost 5 years ago. At the time, everything was top of the line and even till today, the computer has run without any issues and problems. Its still feels like a brand new computer and I still consider it ready for anything I can throw at it.

I built the computer with one theme in mind. I wanted to consolidate the number of different manufacturers. I was able to settle on just 3 manufacturers.

The manufacturer with the most components was undoubtedly corsair. For the peripherals, I have a Corsair Strafe RGB Mechanical Keyboard, Corsair M65 Pro RGB FPS Mouse, and the Corsair VOID Wireless RGB Gaming Headphones. I also have the matching full desk Corsair Gaming Mouse Mat. For the actual components in the computer, I have a Corsair RM750x power supply, 32gb Corsair Vengeance LED DDR4 memory, a Corsair MP500 M.2 SSD, a Corsair Hydro H105 Extreme Performance Cooler, and a Corsair Obsidian 350D Performance case with matching Corsair fans.

The asus components consists of the Asus ROG STRIX Z270G Gaming Motherboard and the Asus GeForce GTX 1070 ROG STRIX OC Edition Graphics Card. The monitor is a 24 inch Asus Full HD 144Hz 1ms Gaming Monitor.

The Intel components feature non other than the 7th Gen i7-7700K Processor, clocked in at 4.5Ghz.

The computer was initial built for gaming, but is now used casually to game with my 2 older boys who love to play fortnite. These days with COVID its now my work from home computer and its connected to 3 monitors so I can support my clients simultaneously as needed. Often we have to work on a clients computer and the server at the same time so being able to control multiple computers at the same time is very convenient and saves myself and my customers time.

Here are a few more shots of the build process and the completed result as it stands today in my home/office.

Yes, that is a 40in TV so I can monitor our call volume like a real call center from the comfort of my home office.
