Default Email
Program
Have you ever noticed that when you click
on an email link on a webpage your browser automatically opens up
an email program window? It can be better if you make the email
default to the one that you use for your computer.
To change the default email program, follow these steps.
Click Windows Start > Settings > and
select Control Panel.
Double-click Internet Options and select the Programs tab.
Use the E-mail pull-down menu and change it to the email client
of your choice.
When finished selecting, hit Apply.
Now, test your new change on the next email link you see.
Avoiding Spam
The best thing to do if you get SPAM? Usually,
the safest way is to avoid spam and getting on a list is to stop
registering for free tshirts online! But if that fails, OUTLOOK,
not Outlook Express, has a pretty neat feature. The next time you
get SPAM and you use OUTLOOK, try this.
Make sure you highlighted the email you think is SPAM.
Open Outlook
Go to ACTIONS
GO TO JUNKMAIL
Click it.
The next time you get email from something remotely similiar to
the SPAM you got, then it will recognize it and send it straight
to the Deleted Items folder. Of course, there are a ton of great
products out there that prevent SPAM. The best thing to do when
you get it is to delete it and no matter what, DONT OPEN IT!
Auto Hide Taskbar
Say you want to take a look at a website
with the full screen option and you dont want to get distracted
by the task bar?!? Then you can hide it. This way, you can see the
most "action" for whatever kind of media you are, eh hem,
watching. To auto hide the taskbar, follow these directions:
Right-click any blank portion of your taskbar.
Click on Properties from the menu.
The Taskbar Properties box will appear.
On the Taskbar Options tab, check the "Auto hide" box.
Hit the Apply button at the bottom right.
You just selected to auto hide your taskbar. This will make your
taskbar disappear until you mouse over its location.
