Do you hate
unsolicited e-mail? If you use Outlook 2000 or Outlook XP, you
should try SpamNet, a free program from Cloudmark. SpamNet uses
the power of peer-to-peer technology to dynamically filter incoming
messages. When a message comes into your in-box, SpamNet compares
it to a list of known spam messages. If a message fits the profile,
it is sent into a SpamBox. No messages are deleted, so youll
never miss a message. Cloudmark reports that it catches about
75% of all spam, but in our experience, the catch rate is better
than 90%.
The unique
feature of SpamNet is that if a message gets thru the filters,
you can report it to Cloudmark. The report is stored in a central
computer and if enough users report the same message, the system
will mark it as spam for all SpamNet users. In other words, if
the community of SpamNet users thinks that a message is spam,
it must be spam.
Installation
is simple - just download it and follow the instructions on the
installation wizard. Just remember that right now it supports
only Outlook 2000 and Outlook XP. If you use Outlook Express,
you wont be able to run this program.
